ITV Training

Greetings from the ITV Technical Services Staff. We have made significant equipment improvements over the last several years to provide reliable, faculty-friendly ITV classrooms. We have worked hard to build our program into one of the finest and largest in the state which has resulted in a drastic increase in the number of ITV students and classes.

One way that we are able to provide this quality is through our faculty training.  We have structured a training program that provides the instructor with information on operating an ITV classroom as well as Southeast’s Online Instructor Suite (OIS).  Most faculty feel it is harder to operate their cell phones than to operate our rooms.  We also provide on-duty technicians in a centralized control room that are only a phone call away and who are able to answer most questions right over the phone.  

Because training is an important start to any career or assignment, the School of Extended Learning along with ITV Technical Services has organized training seminars in preparation for the upcoming semesters. All new ITV faculty must attend the training seminar.  Any returning ITV faculty that has not taught since summer 2007 are required to attend the hands-on portion of the training seminar.  We have two events, one before the summer semester and the other before the fall semester. Instructors teaching in the fall have the option of attending the summer event.  Any returning faculty members should contact ITV Technical Services as soon as possible to review their prior training to determine which portions they may need to attend.

The training seminar will be held:

         Monday, June 8, 2009 and Tuesday, June 9, 2009

         Monday, August 17, 2009 and Tuesday, August 18, 2009

This program is designed to assist faculty with web design, instructional technology, Extended Learning procedures and ITV operations.
